It’s always a special moment when mum’s agree to have their portrait taken with their children. I understand how hard it is to be in a photograph.
As a professional photographer I hear a lot of excuses why Mum’s don’t want to be in the photographs:
“I’m not photogenic”
“I need to loose a few pounds first”
“It’s just the children, that’s all we really want”
But existing in portraits is important, a portrait with mum is important for your children, your family, the people who love you and probably most important of all its so important for you.
Why? I hear you say, well I would like to encourage women and those who shy away from the camera to value themselves enough to appear in photographs so that years later their families have memories to hold on to.
One day your children will look for photographs of you. What will they have?
Your children won’t care if you have a few grey hairs, or that you haven’t lost your ‘baby tummy’ or that you don’t love the way you look at this moment, because they love you, everything about you.
By existing in portraits you are teaching your children your self worth and you’ll pass that important message on to your children and in turn they will value themselves.
Don’t wait to be photographed. Do it now! With great posing, your body will look fabulous and you will too!
