Who We Are Today
Sarah & Ian
We are really excited to be celebrating our 71st year in our family business this year.
I am the third generation of photographer in my family starting with my Grandad Roy Offley then my Mum Alison Offley and now myself & my husband Ian work together. Our dedication to family and service of the highest quality is the driving force behind our business.
In The Beginning
My grandad Roy Offley was passionate about photography, his journey started during WW2 where he was in the RAF serving in the mobile field photographic section until the end of the war. A short time after this Roy established his photography business ‘R. L. Offley – High Class Photography’.
One of the oldest price lists we have of my grandads advertises ‘flashlight photography’ & ‘photographs hand coloured in oils’ and an emphasises on his aim in quality.
The Second Generation
A love of photography is something that grandad passed on to my mother, Alison, who after working with her father for many years eventually took over the business in the 1980’s and became a award winning wedding photographer.
I learnt my profession with my mother mentoring over many years, with me specialising in photographing candid reportage style images at the weddings, before eventually setting up the portrait studio with Ian my husband.
We believe in creating beautiful, natural and stylish portraits – imagery that effortlessly conveys all manner of emotions. You create the memories and we immortalise them forever. How do we make this magic happen? We simply listen. Taking the time to discover all that you love and are passionate about; who you are as people, what makes you laugh and what brings you together. This is all we need to conjure up the perfect portrait photographs.
